Masuria is a great place to gain the skills necessary to operate yachts and motorboats. Motorboat helmsman course organized by "Gertis" Sailing School will allow you to gain the necessary knowledge and practical skills both in the field of operating motor units and safe movement on navigable waters.
Motorboat courses can be held in our port or in nearby Giżycko. Theory in the form of self-study (materials included in the price of the training). The practical part and the exam take place within 1 day.

The cost of the motorboat course is PLN 700 + PLN 125/PLN 250 for the motorboat helmsman exam.
Location
The courses are held every weekend from the beginning of April to the end of October in two locations: in our port Nowy Sztynort and in the nearby Ekomarina Giżycko.

The Motorboat Pilot Course is an investment in skills that will open up new opportunities for you related to active water recreation. During the course, you will learn, among other things:
- sailing a motorboat with a large engine
- safe maneuvering and crew management
- the most important theoretical issues: regulations, trail marking, rescue, meteorology
The course ends with a state examination for the motorboat helmsman's license.
Why is it worth having motorboat pilot's license?
The motorboat helmsman's license allows for legal and safe chartering of motor units in Poland and abroad. Additionally, it should be remembered that this license allows for jet skiing.
The motorboat helmsman's license entitles you to:
- operating motor yachts on inland waterways
- navigating motor yachts with a hull length of up to 12 m in internal marine waters
- operating motor yachts in other marine waters within a zone of up to 2 Mm from the coast during the day
The course and exam for the motorboat helmsman's patent are solid theoretical and practical preparation that allows you to acquire the skills necessary to safely operate motorboats. Thanks to this, you know how to react in emergency situations, maneuver the unit in various conditions and take care of your own safety and that of your crew.
Motorboat helmsman license course
The motorboat helmsman's license is a pass to the free use of motor units on inland waters and coastal sea waters. The course organized by the "Gertis" Sailing School prepares students for the state exam, which will confirm your skills. A positive exam result entitles you to receive the license.
The course includes a theoretical and practical part and lasts only 1 day. Participants receive access to theoretical materials before the training. During the practical training, we supplement and test this knowledge by combining theory with practice (e.g., trail swimming, crossing channels).
The practical part of the training is several hours (4-5 hours) on a motorboat with our instructor, during which all maneuvers are covered, such as: planing, braking, mooring, approaching a buoy, approaching a man overboard (MOB), entering and leaving ports.
We train until the end! This means that we train until each participant is able to correctly perform the maneuvers specified in the exam.
How do I get a towing license?
After obtaining a motorboat helmsman's license, you can sign up for a supplementary course for a license to tow a skier or other floating objects. Training is held individually after prior contact and appointment with an instructor. Call and find out more - tel.: 500 190 290
